Welcome to Ausblick Snowsports School. Let us help you discover your passion! We provide professional instruction for our members and guests. Whether new to skiing/snowboarding, or a seasoned veteran looking to improve technique, we have you covered.

Ausblick professional instructors are hand-selected to match your personality and ability, giving you a customized coaching experience. Ausblick Ski and Snowboard instructors are enthusiastic and many are certified PSIA (Professional Ski Instructors of America) or AASI (American Association of Snowboard Instructors). Ausblick instructors use proven methods of experiential, creative, and cutting-edge techniques to give you confidence on all terrain to ski or ride safely.  We are committed to national standards in teaching to make sure you get the very best instructors and technology available.

Ausblick offers a variety of programs and lessons such as private one-on-one lessons, youth and adult specialty clinics.

Snowsports Guidelines:

  •  Members must book reservations for 2024-25 programs, classes and lessons online and 24 hours in advance.
  • The Ausblick Yurt is for the use of instructors and Kinderblick participants only.
  •  Walk-in lessons will be accepted, but please CALL AHEAD. There is no guarantee that instructors will be available since staff schedules are based on advanced online reservations.
  • Cancellations must be made 48 hours in advance of the scheduled lesson or class to be eligible for a refund or reschedule. If the hill is open, you are expected to attend lessons.
  •  At lesson time, please meet your instructors at the sign-in lesson board outside the yurt.

Availability IS LIMITED in all of our programs.

Private Lessons:

Whether you are new to skiing and snowboarding or are a seasoned veteran looking to improve on advanced techniques, private lessons from Ausblick instructors will take your abilities to the next level. Instructors are hand-selected to match each individual student, and provide highly personalized and customized coaching and instruction.

Youth Programs age 3-17

What could be better than learning to ski with new friends? Students are placed in groups based on age and ability level. Our ski instructors are trained to meet your children’s ages 3-17 needs. They know when it’s time for a break, a motivational snowball fight to keep spirits up or tips to improve their student’s skiing/snowboarding technique.

Learning snowsports doesn’t just mean connecting turns, instructors teach your student the skills to ski and snowboard safely when they hit the slopes. Their time at Ausblick Snowsports spent in lessons and programs help them gain confidence and skill on the snow. And did we mention fun?!

Youth Programs age 3-6

Kinderbebe- Ages 2-3

Introduce your “bebe” to skiing in a laid-back welcoming environment catered toward young beginners. In this creative program, skill stations are set up to entice your child into snowsports. We focus on experiential learning using play and guided discovery.  Some skills covered include how to slide on snow, keeping your balance, and use of the handle tow. This is designed to prepare your child for our Kinderblick program. The ratio is 2 “bebe’s” to 1 instructor. 

Age: 2-3, new skiers

Time: 10:30am-12:00pm

Dates:  Friday Dec 27th- Monday Dec 3oth (4 consecutive days)

 Kinderclub ages 3-6

This program introduces your child to skiing and develops a love of skiing in a small group in a small setting. The series of 4 progressive lessons in supervised peer group will ignite their passion and create life long memories.  The Kinderclub program will prepare them for future Ausblick programs. Taught by enthusiastic instructors who know how your children learn best. Designed to make you comfortable in the environment, learning fundamentals and safety tips.

Time: 5:00pm-6:15 pm

Cost: $239

  • Friday January 31, February, 2/7, 2/14. 2/21

Kinderblick- ages 3-6

Offered every Saturday and Sunday throughout the season and everyday during Christmas Holiday. Our staff will engage your child and spark their passion for a world of excitement and fun sliding on snow. Our unique indoor and outdoor resources help each child learn to ski and explore the Ausblick terrain on their own terms. Approximately 1.5 hours on the snow with a 30-minute snack break. Little skiers of all ability are accepted.  You pick and chose the days that work for you. This program fills quickly.  The ratio is between 2-1 skiers per instructor.

Age: 3-6

Time:

  • Morning session: 10:00am -12:00pm
  • Afternoon session: 1:00pm-3:00pm

Dates:   Saturdays and Sundays all season, including Christmas week (December 26th-Jan 1st). Closed on Christmas Day!

Cost: $95 per lesson, $320 for a 4-pack of lessons

Youth Programs age 6+-17

New! Redesigned Ausblick Devo Team ages 6 -17

We are excited to announce a new Devo Team race focused program developed by our Snowsports team. Head Coaches Bailey and Bella Wichert are both Professional Ski Instructors (Level 2) and other Ausblick Snowsports coaches with race background.

Goal: A developmental program designed for young athletes not quite ready to jump into full race program or plan on racing for high school team. Athletes must ski at an intermediate level, ride the chair without assistance and interested in racing. Focus on alpine fundamentals, and introduction to slalom and giant slalom racing and gate tactics. End of season Race Day om February 15th.

  • Willingness to ski all trails at Ausblick.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to participate in group skiing tasks, receptiveness to coaching and feedback and desire to improve
  • Self sufficient
  • Work to riding lift without assistance and being able to ride the chair with other participants in the program (Ausblick race asks that there are no single chairs during practice)
  • Put on own equipment
  • Commitment to participate in 75% of the practices

*Prior participation with Intro To Race is helpful

*If you do not meet these requirements, you will be moved to a different program, either Intro To Race or Non-Competitive Team

Ages: 6-14 (group is split by age and no more than 6 per coach)

New! December Preseason – Back To Race Clinics 

Elevate your skiing skills and join Ausblick Snowsports race coaches Bailey & Bella Wichert and other instructors that are PSIA certified and have race experience for a series of three clinics. These clinics will provide aspiring racers with personalized instruction tailored to their level ratio is no more than 5-1.  Racers will engage in free skiing and gate training focusing on free skiing, reintroduction to USSA drills, GS and Slalom Gates. Do one or all three!

Recommend for U-10 and U-12

Time 10am-12pm

Ausblick’s freestyle snowboard & skier development team is the perfect way to push your air and style to the next level.  Our professional and experienced coaches spend time with riders on one plank or two planks freeriding on the groomed slopes as well as spending time working on jibbing and jumping skills. During your session, our coaches will help you to improve your snowboarding and freestyle skiing by teaching you the solid fundamentals and correct technique so you can learn to ride with the skill and style you want. Your goals will be assessed and a safe and successful progression will be planned for you to achieve the best results. From straight airs to rail grinds, all riders will learn something new. All of our coaches have a background strong coaching in freestyle skiing and snowboarding and are are the top in the sport. The development team meets 7 Saturdays at 1:30-3pm Dates:(1/11), (1/18), (1/25), (2/1), (2/8) (2/15), (2/22), . End of season party  with non-competitive ski and snowboard team  March 2th 1:00-3:00pm.

Age 7-16 ( Must be able to ride chair lift and ride upper and lower Bunny without assistance , and be able to hill side and toe side turns and stop on command)

Non-Competitive Ski and Snowboard Team ages 6 -14

Take your skiing and snowboarding (Friday Nights Only) to a new level with this fundamental-based, non-competitive program. Instructors will use terrain features on the hill, and personal video instruction to make the most of the experience. The team will use specific drills for enhanced technical performance, including race gates, freestyle, synchronized skiing/boarding, obstacle courses  and skier/boardercross. Each week will build on the previous as we incorporate new skills. Takes place during January, February and March (Total of 8 Fridays and/or 7 Sundays and one Saturday) with a party for all participants Sunday March 3th).

Age 7-16 ( Must be able to ride chair lift and ski/ride upper and lower bunny)

Time:

  • Friday Nights (Skiers & Snowboarders) – 6:30pm-8:00pm
  • Sunday Afternoons (Skiers & Snowboarders) – 1:30pm- 3:00pm

Friday Night Learn to Turn Beginner Ski or Snowboard Program ages 7- adult . 

Start your weekend off with our new learn to turn ski and snowboard night. Set your family up for a lifetime of fun and adventure enjoying Ausblick and all it has to offer. This program takes you from never ever to ripping the hill. The series of 4 progressive lessons in supervised peer group will create an exhilaration and thrilling experience. These programs will prepare you for future Ausblick programs. Taught by enthusiastic instructors who know how to have fun as well as teach you learn beginner to intermediate skiing and snowboarding. Designed to make you comfortable in the environment, learning fundamentals and sharing the secretes of safety. (groups determined by age and no more than 6 to a group)

Time: 5:00pm-6:15 pm

Cost: $180

 Winter Adventure Camp ages 6-14

Winter Adventure Camp is widely popular program that features exciting ski and snowboard adventures ages 6+. This is a great way to have tons of fun sliding on snow with your friends!  Drop-in for one, two, or all four days at a discounted price.

Intro To Race ages 3-10

Designed for students interested in learning the fundamentals of racing on snow, with an eye toward joining the Ausblick Race Team in the future. Coaching will focus on developing ski skills with a race emphasis using the USSA Skill Quest and PSIA core concepts as a guide. Night skiing through race gates with an Ausblick coach/instructor is included in the Intro to Race program.

Age: 3-10 – Must be able to use handle tow -students are split by age into two groups. (USSA Phase 1: (3-5) years old. USSA Phase 2: (6-10) years old)

Time: 5:00pm-6:30pm

Dates: Mondays and/or Thursday in January and Tuesdays and Thursdays in February. Students can attend one or both days per session. Please see below

Martin Luther Base Camp ages 3-14

Ausblick is open during the day on Martin Luther King Day. Once again snowsports is offering a day of fun including ski/snowboard relays, ski tasks, tubbing and other exciting games. Light snacks and beverages will be provided, but kids need to bring their own lunch.  Activities will take place indoors and outside.

Age: 3 +

Ski or Snowboard

With the whole family skiing, do you feel nervous and left out? There is safety in numbers and the best way to snowboard days with the camaraderie of other females in days filled with laughter and fun. Our best female ski and snowboard instructors will give you cutting edge skills and drills at your level, refining your technique comfort at Ausblick and beyond.  The focus on both psychology, technique, and tactics will help you break -though and give you control on the snow for an exhilarating experience.  This is geared for the moms the kiddos in Kinderblick or non-competitive team that can ski or ride the lift and upper and lower bunny. (So dads if you want to go on an annual ski trip, encourage your wife to register for Ausblick’s Mom’s Pack)

Have a blast with friendly competition racing on Wednesday nights this season in a 4 week GS series whether you are a skier or rider. Professionally organized races occur in January and February on Ausblick’s timed race course! The series includes a coached practice night on Wednesday, January 15th and will conclude with an end of League awards banquet Wednesday February 12th.  Ausblick offers a best in class snow racing experience for all its members!

Your Responsibility Code

Observe the code listed below, and share with other skiers and boarders the responsibility required to have a great experience.

  1.  Always stay in control. You must be able to stop or avoid people or objects.
  2.  People ahead or downhill of you have the right-of-way. You must avoid them.
  3.  Stop only where you are visible from above and do not restrict traffic.
  4.  Look uphill and avoid others before starting downhill or entering a trail.
  5.  You must prevent runaway equipment.
  6.  Read and obey all signs, warnings, and hazard markings.
  7.  Keep off closed trails and out of closed areas.
  8.  You must know how and be able to load, ride and unload lifts safely. If you need assistance, ask the lift attendant.
  9.  Do not use lifts or terrain when impaired by alcohol or drugs.
  10.  If you are involved in a collision or incident, share your contact information with each other and a ski area employee.

Winter sports involve risk of serious injury or death. Your knowledge, decisions and actions contribute to your safety and that of others. If you need help understanding the Code, please ask any ski area employee.
